Sadly I have completely lost trust in this garage. Having used this garage for the last 2 3 years I had been given the impression that they were reliable and trustworthy. That all changed when my girlfriend took one of our vehicles for MOT instead of myself. As soon as my partner left the garage and walked past the mechanics sitting out side she felt something was off. The car was failed for excessive corrosion on brake pipes and my girlfriend was then scared into thinking the vehicle was unsafe to drive and should not even take the vehicle off the premises by the receptionist. She was told "The brake lines could burst at any moment they were so corroded." A quote for replacing these was given along with other "urgent" work. Close to £400. As well as a quote for checking the reason the engine management light was on (another £30) which could result in an even larger repair cost. Having been a taxi operator for several years the advice to not drive the vehicle away was ignored and the car inspected On inspection of the failed areas the pipes showed very slight signs of surface corrosion that were easily removed with a wire brush. The faulty drop link was replaced for £11 and the engine management light reset with our diagnostic machine (Less than £15 on Amazon and worth every penny). A loose fuel filler cap had caused the engine management light to come on. (A very easy fix, 10 seconds) The car was represented for MOT and refused an MOT a second time. I was then advised to cut and replace sections of the brake line by the cocky young mechanic. 24 hours later the car was presented at another garage. Passed the MOT with flying colours and no advisories. A very interesting conversation followed about this garages reputation What I learned from this experience was that if you are a female taking your car to this garage you will have a very different experience to a male. If your car fails an MOT and you are advised not to drive it ask to be shown the reason for the fail. If you are at all suspicious, Take your car away and get a second opinion before agreeing to any major work.
All staff were polite and helpful. Tony did my car, was very helpful, very professional, honest and had good knowledge getting me what I wanted for the right money, recommend this garage.
Service and MOT - good price, friendly helpful staff, all covid safe practice. Had a follow up visit for 2 new tyres. Again, good prices. Will continue to use HMC in the future.
So I had the worst experience at this mot centre, the receptionist was so rude and unprofessional. They failed my car telling me I needed to get both arm joints replaced which would cost me £250 I took my car to another garage and they said to me not only did I not need them replacing but they have over charged me, they fixed the bits that needed replacing which cost me £48. I went back to motorcare centre and got a retest and the guy literally turned my steering wheel and came back and said it had passed. I think they are disgusting doing this trying to rip me off by £200 I would NOT recommend this place!
Amazing staff really helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough for you
